Those Who Serve
We have many wonderful people who help and serve at Redemption Hill. Please meet our current staff, and feel free to reach out to us!
We are Ray and Leisa Carter. We were married in 1983 and first surrendered our lives to the Lord Jesus Christ in 1990 & 1989, respectively. We are beyond blessed to have a large close family consisting of 5 children Nichole, Allison, Zechariah, Noah, and Caleb, and our sons and daughter in law, Adam, Brandon, and Angela. We have three grandsons Micah, Seth and Eli. We also have one precious preemie granddaughter Aria. Our most treasured moments are when all 14 of us are together. Since 1996, it has been our pleasure to serve the people of our fellowship as pastor and pastor's wife. Jesus told Peter in John 21:15-17 to feed and tend His sheep. Jesus laid this call on Peter's life as an evidence of Peter's love. This is the call of God on our lives as well. I have the primary privilege of teaching, praying for and loving those who call Redemption Hill their home. Leisa is helps lead both children’s and women's ministry as well using her gifts in many ways, to build up the body of Christ here. Our passion is for God and people.
I love how the Lord delights in taking nobodies and making them useful for His kingdom...that way He alone gets the glory. I was raised Catholic, while my wife, Candy, had no religious upbringing. Then in '79 Jesus ransomed us from our empty lives. The following year we were married and have been serving together wherever we have called our church family. We moved to Havasu in '83 and have been honored to serve the people of Redemption Hill alongside the Carters for the last two decades. It is our greatest desire that He alone continues to get the glory!
The Lord has blessed us in so many ways. Especially with our new church home here at Calvary Chapel. Melany and I were married in 1995 and have been loving our Lord Jesus and growing together in His name ever since. At first I wasn't exactly the "spiritual leader" that I should have been, until a friend gave me a book about being a leader in your home. It said to never "send" your family to church, but to "take" your family to church. God really spoke to me through that and from then on He has done some fantastic things in our lives. We have been involved in Children's Ministry for the last 11 years. When we moved to Lake Havasu in 2005, it became obvious that God had plans for us here. I now serve as the treasurer for the church and also on the board. Melany oversees the sewing for the costumes for the Christmas productions. We look forward to what God has in store for us and we look forward to serving you.
