Vision statement – WHY MAMH:

As Christian parents, we understand that we are charged with the ultimate responsibility of raising our children to become disciples of Jesus. (Deuteronomy 6:6-9, Proverbs 22:6, Ephesians 6:4) Our convictions in this area have led us to make an individual and sacrificial decision to personally educate our own children. This is a weighty resolution that does have consequences. There are strains financially, emotionally, and relationally in our families, resulting from our desire to teach our kids apart from the governmental run norm.

Admittedly, home schooling is not for everyone and quite candidly, there are times when even the most successful families feel like quitting. But despite the hardship involved, the goal of being so influential in all areas of our children’s growth and development is completely and absolutely worth it! Our aspiration for MAMH ministry is to do all we can to support our home school families in victoriously achieving their mission by the power of the Spirit.

Objective – How we seek to accomplish this:

Through this ministry, we hope to support members in various ways defined within the following two categories:

A) Spiritually:
By having a Biblical, Christian emphasis at our gatherings, including devotions and memory verses. This year’s theme is “The Body.” Through prayer and encouraging prayer for one another by all means available including texting, twitter, Facebook, and our e-mail loop. Through many opportunities for fellowship in order to build community.

B) Practically:
As a ministry of the church, members involved in activities will have a covering for liability. We also have been blessed with resources that we are willingly investing in MAMH members. We look forward to providing tools, connections, and helps for discipline, structure and academic achievement. If we do not have an answer, we will do our best to get you one as soon as possible.

What is necessary to join?

The registration process is easy. Just follow the link provided, print it our, and once you have filled out, turn it in to the church.

Dues

$10.00 for the first student, $5.00 for each additional student, up to $20.00 maximum per family.
This year, sponsorship is available to any who wish to pay their dues by doing 2 hours of work at church on any of the first 3 Fridays in July between 9 A.M. – 4 P.M.

Participation

• 4-8 hours of volunteering in on e of our church’s ministry outreaches to widows or the homeless
• You must be a born again Christian home school family
• Calvary Chapel Lake Havasu is your home church

What is included with membership?

• Choice of either MAMH tee shirt or a SLG tee shirt.
• Summer kick-off party on July 21st (meeting at Site Six, 9 A.M. – 1 P.M.) Boating, Mudshark pizza, drink and dessert will all be provided
• Swim party with campfire and s’mores
• Physical Education classes in the Fall
• The church will be set up to do group school on Tuesdays
• Home School Student Leadership Group for Jr. High & Sr. High School Students
• Movie days at church with snacks and popcorn
• Christmas and Valentine’s Day parties
• End of the year bash as Nautical Inn’s Fun Zone water park followed by a BBQ

What is anticipated?

Many other activities/field trips that will be both fun and educational

Our heart is not just to guide and provide, but also to come underneath and alongside. We are hopeful that MAMH members will be excited to take ownership in developing this ministry. We look forward to everyone’s participation in planning and completing different projects and activities that we have yet to think of.
